Name : N-1
Class : Artificer
Plane of Origin : Shadow Realm
I am still me, as far as I know. Built to protect the shadow court, forgotten on the Rock of Brall. Found by privateers, lost to time.
Name : Nelho Mast
Class : Warlock
Plane of Origin : Fields of Alysium
Nelho’s history, for as open as she may be about it, is still unclear to me. I admit my knowledge of planes subsequent religions is lacking with the ever expanding star map of planes and dimensions. An astral elf ( a species of elf localized to the astral plane ) Nelho is extremely knowledgeable of the stars and planetary phenomena. A student of “graviturgy”, I have seen Nelho perform feats that defy traditional understanding of spell casting, and push the limits of the weave. If Avernus has folk creatures, as every other culture seems to, Nelho would live on as one of their most feared.
On board, Nelho is our navigation officer, Spelljammer, and cook. It is difficult to say which she does best, as she excels in everything she commits to, but I am told her cooking is particularly favorable to those who require sustenance.
I find myself comfortable sitting in silence with Nelho aboard the deck of the ship. I believe this is called friendship. There is a depth and strength to Nelho that reminds me of the Shadowrealm during the winter seasons. Comforting but perilous.
Fiona
Name : Fiona
Class : Fighter
Plane of Origin : ???
Fionna is the closest thing I have to family since leaving the Rock of Bral. Her carefree nature and unconditional love for all things is a beacon to others in an otherwise inhospitable and unwelcome void. She is persistent in her theological calling, and works to build a place where all creatures can co-exist in safety and comfort, and restore the forgotten Gif god, Theoris.
Since the disappearance of our previous captain, Gantrithore, Fiona has stepped into the role as ship commander and captain. With the support of Giff town and her growing religious base, we have constructed a ship (The Star Rail) that is likely without equal on the Astral Sea.
My relationship with Fiona became somewhat strained with the appearance of Snark, our goblin companion and lookout. Only after his departure did I identify the cause of this strain as an emotion known as jealousy. I desire to apologized to snark in the future for my behavior.
Kami
Name : Kami
Class : Ex-Warlock
Plane of Origin : Athas
Kami is a respected and experience privateer with a history on the Rock of Bral. When I reflect on the probability of being indebted pirates, or sold to esoteric collectors, I feel what must be luck, that I departed The Rock on Kami’s ship. The history of their people, the Thri-kreen, is largely unknown to me, even with the diversity of the emissaries the Shadow court keeps. Ikigrak was never one for conversation, and most of my knowledge of Thri-kreen stems from Teigren’s fantastical stories.
Aboard the Star Rail, Kami’s knowledge of the Astral Sea is invaluable. While most of my study on the theory and concept of travel is overseen by Nelho, I often look to Kami for insight on the cultures and people of Astral Space. It is their awareness, knowledge, and care for others that I believe drives Kami forward and grounds our group as we explore the hostile and unwelcome shadows of space.
Most recently, Kami denounced their patron in order to prioritize aiding their friends. This has me questioning my own directives, and if I should be considering my surrogate family more, and my origin less.
Revna
Name : Revna Algetauchter
Class : Warlock
Plane of Origin : ???
Revna is new to the Star Rail. For reasons that are her own, she carries a piece of the Orrery with her, a stary disk strung by a red string, worn across her hip. Were it not for our own pieces of the Orrery, she may not have picked us out of the crowd for traveling companions. We first encountered Revna while perusing Mido on the plane of Avernus, at Margin’s Magnificent Traveling Inn. Why she was there is still unknown, and I’m unsure if it would be considered impolite to ask. Her singular goal appears to be to guide the Orrery back to completion.
Inspite of her stern outward appearance, Revna has been a welcome presence on the ship. In my fervent studies, I seem to have overlooked many onboard security and safety risks, which Revna was quick to address. She seems a capable fighter, bringing with her an heirloom sword and shield painted in some traditional pattern. Thankfully at the time of this entry, we have been without conflict for some time, so her exact abilities are still unknown.
Our relationship is polite, although I often find her staring through me. She is a practitioner of embroidery and needlework, and I find it comforting to sit and examine her work in her absence.
